Description:  Summary: Obtains sleep study data (polysomnography) on patients experiencing symptoms of sleep disorders. Applies specialized knowledge derived from biological, physical, and behavioral sciences in the testing, scoring, care and treatment, diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching of persons experiencing sleep disorders. This is accomplished by executing the prescribed medical regimen of a physician in accordance with the policies and philosophy of Labette Health.
Provides pulmonary services to patients as ordered by physicians, according to established standards, practices, and protocols.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Board certified or registered polysomnographic technologist recognized by the AASM, or is currently enrolled in /has completed the A-STEP program and will be eligible to sit the boards within the time frame to maintain current standards for an accredited sleep disorders center for Polysomnographic technologist / certified technician. Current BCLS is required to be obtained and maintained.
Successfully passed the National Board of Respiratory Care examination for the Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist. Licensed with the State of Kansas as a Respiratory Care Therapist or Student.
