You Are the Key to HPV Cancer Prevention

 

Participants will walk away having met the following learning objectives:

-Define the importance for HPV vaccination for cancer prevention and the rationale for vaccinating at ages 11 or 12.

-List the indications for HPV vaccine for girls and boys.

-Provide useful and compelling information about HPV vaccine to parents to aid in making the decision to vaccinate.

-Locate resources relevant to current immunization practices.

Presenter:  Lisa S. Gilmer, MD

Dr. Gilmer is a practicing pediatrician as well as an Associate Professor and the Pediatric Residency Program Director at The University of Kansas School of Medicine.  She recently published an article in Primary Care for School-aged Children entitled, "Human Papillomavirus Vaccine Update".
