Summary:    

 

The Transportation Services Driver is responsible for the operation of the transportation vehicle.  The driver will, on a daily basis, be the primary transporter for the service and be responsible for picking up and dropping customers on from the appointed locations.  The driver will also be accountable for the safety of the customers while they get on, ride and get off the bus.  Drivers are not responsible for lifting and/or moving patients however slight assistance might be needed (Customers need to be able to get in and out of their residence by themselves or with help from a care taker).  Additionally, although the bus does not transport emergent patients the bus drivers must be trained in CPR and know how to activate the emergency medical system should it be needed.  Driver also must have and maintain a good driving record.  At the end of each shift the bus driver will be responsible for cleaning, restocking and equipping the bus for the next day’s operation.  The driver reports directly to the Transportation Services Director however takes daily assignments from the transportation office and will direct questions during the day to the transportation office as they will know what is needed from day to day.

 Education Requirements: 

 Must be over 21 years old, must have good driving record and good basic knowledge of area geography.  Additionally, customer service and time management skills are needed.  These positions will be part-time (relief). CPR training will be required upon hire.
