SUMMARY

Manages the OB Department and all staff members to ensure that quality patient care is provided. Directly supervises all employees in the OB Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; regarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Diploma in nursing, associate's degree (A.D.) form two-year college or Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) form a four year college and successful completion of a prescribed curriculum of study which has led to licensure as a Registered Nurse in Kansas.  Two years of experience or more preferred in labor, delivery, post partum and nursery.

 

Required Certifications:  CPR; NRP; Basic fetal monitoring; advanced fetal monitoring; Intermediate fetal monitoring; STABLE (optional)
